Apr 03, 2018 Once your text is selected, you'll notice the new tool in the Font Toolbar—Curve! When your text is selected, just slide the slider back and forth to curve your text. If you slide it to the right, your text will curve down, and if you slide it to the left, your text will curve up. To get your text to follow a curved path, you'll want to select one of the options from the 'Follow path' section of the menu. You can choose whether you want your text to curve up, down, or all around. Click to make your selection, and you'll see your text automatically warped in the direction of your choosing. BRAND NEW FEATURE ADDED! Curved text was just added to Design Space! Check out our tutorial to find out exactly how to use it, troubleshoot problems and 3 secret hacks for creating unique designs with this brand new feature.
Since becoming more involved with Cricut over the past few years, Cricut users have asked for a specific feature loud and clear: an easier way to curve text. Sdio wifi adapter. Previously, users could curve text in the Design Space program by ungrouping each letter of a word of text and manually curve the text. This could be time consuming and tedious. The Design Space developers at Cricut listened, and now curving text couldn't be easier!

Liberty pumps ascent ii installation. Within the Cricut Design Space text editing panel, a 'Curve Text' icon now appears anytime a user types a line of text. The user can click the icon and use the slider to curve the text in either a concave or convex shape. The text can also be curved into a circle. It really is as simple as that!
I created a quick video to demonstrate how to curve text in Cricut Design Space. Watch it below to see for yourself how easy creating custom text for your projects can be.
Keep in mind that the curving text option only works for a single line of text. For instance, it you type a sentence of text that is in rows, the curve text icon will not appear.
I have heard users comment that they believe this feature will take their projects to the next level! It definitely takes the guess work out of curving text. Users can also insert a image or shape and curve a line of text around the image. I will definitely be using this for iron-on vinyl projects in the near future. My friend Jessica from Everyday Party Magazine has already used this feature on a cute shirt. She circled her text around an adorable dog image cut with the new Cricut Patterned Iron-on. You can now curve text in Cricut Design Space!
This is a new feature, so here's what I've learned so far…
Key takeaways
- Only on the desktop version of Design Space (more on that below)
- You can curve one line of text at a time
- System fonts should work (though I think this is always rolling the dice, depending on well crafted and coded a font is)
- You'll be able to set the curve with a sliding bar as well as text entry (like you can adjust font size with a plus/minus button or just enter the number in the setting box)
- You'll be able to adjust the curve once it's been applied
- You can ungroup curved letters if you want to manipulate them individually
- The only curve shape right now is a circle
Curved text and the Design Space app
Right now, the Curve Text feature is not available on the app. Not only is it not available, you won't be able to open any project with curved text. The only way you'll be able to open a curved text project in the Design Space mobile app is if you've welded or flattened the curved text. You will not be able to edit the curved text or adjust the curve in the app.
How to use the Curve Text feature
Once you've entered your text, just select the the text box. The Curve tool is on the Edit toolbar between Alignment and Advanced.
When you click on the Curve tool, a setting window will pop up so you can set the curve. If you drag the slider to the left, the ends of the line of text curve up; if you drag the slider to the right, the text curves down. The further you pull the slider in either direction, the more pronounced the curve.
